Carbon Reduction

1 Commitment to achieving net zero

Great State already offsets any emissions caused by business activities and so are carbon neutral. Great State is committed to reducing existing emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieving net zero by 2050.

2 Baseline emissions footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline year: 2022/23

Additional details relating to the baseline emissions calculations.

Great State is an office/hybrid based business, providing digital services. Therefore the majority of our emissions are driven by business travel, although this is minimised by our extensive use of remote working technology. Our offices are based in a large co-working building, we therefore do not commission or control most aspects of electricity or water supply or usage. We measure our emissions in line with our financial year, which runs from 1st April to end of 31st March. The period April 2022-March 2023 was the first year our emissions were formally audited Page 2 of 9   Page 3 of 9 by an independent 3rd party. This is the most recent assessment as we are currently still within the 23/24 year.
